A Weekend In London

On Saturday Luke and I celebrated being together for two years, which in the grand schemes of things isn't that long but yolo any excuse to go for good food. The original plan was to go to Paris but Luke's dog, Lily, decided she wanted to eat his passport so you know, couldn't really do that. London was our next move and so here is this post.

We stayed in The Guoman Tower Bridge Hotel, which literally looked onto Tower Bridge. It was an amazing hotel and as I had signed up to be a member we had the option to have 10% off or free breakfast (We chose the breakfast). As you come into the hotel it has its own sort of campus called 'The Lawn' where there was a bar in the middle of some grass and a load of food stalls, including fish and chips yaaaaas.

Then as always, we were hungry so we headed to the nearest Pizza Express, which cost like £6 as we had Tesco Vouchers (what a blessing). After this I wanted to go to Oxford Street as the Topshop there is insane, sometimes I just go to get a Lola's cupcake. Once we'd finished shopping it was time to go back to the hotel and start getting ready for our dinner at The Ivy Chelsea Garden.

The Ivy was amazing! We were sat outside in a little area that was covered in flowers and fairy lights, which was gorgeous however it was way too dark to take any nice pictures so that was a bit annoying. The food was gorgeous, the staff were nice; overall it was a really really lovely meal. After this we then went and met Luke's friends in Covent Garden for a drink, it then got to about 11 and my feet couldn't take it any more (try walking round town in heels for 4 hours! How does Carrie Bradshaw do it??) so we went back to the hotel.

I would say that Sunday was my favourite day purely because we went to Peggy Porschen. I'm sure you know what it is but if you don't its an amazing cafe close to Sloane Square. I went for the cookies and cream cupcake and it was AMAZING, it had an Oreo baked into the sponge. When we got there we got seated straight away but whilst we were eating the queue became quite big so if you're wanting to go I would say be prepared to wait about 20 minutes for a table.

After a bit more shopping it was time for us to go to Junkyard Golf in Brick Lane. This was so fun and the cocktails there are sooo nice! I had 'Porn in the USA' which I would recommend to everyone. We only went for one round as on the website it says if could take an hour and a half but we did it in 20 minutes so if you're going to goI would definitely think about doing two or three courses. Then it was time for dinner (yes, more food) then we went home.

This weekend has been such a good weekend and I'm sad that it's over however, I have no money now so it's time to stay inside until the student loan drops.
